In rare genres of the XVIII – the first half of the XIX century, images are found and peasant families. They pay attention to ethnographic moments: costumes, rites, patriarchal system of life. Harmony of the peasant family, peasant life, was rather ritual in nature. Folk costume, field work seasons, a cycle of calendar holidays, fit into the landscape, were part of it. These bucolic images did not reflect the personal relations of the family members, or transferred the images of relations that are relevant for aristocratic families and sung by a family portrait: mutual understanding, tenderness, love of spouses for each other, for children.
