The state of safety before restoration:
The upper and right edges of the portrait had rough wooden extensions that change the author’s size and composition. Mastic, filling the gap between the extension and the picture directly, lay above the level of painting and cracked. The lacquer film was very yellow and partially decomposed. A wide strip of recorded varnished varnish was held around the perimeter. Studies have shown that the picture is covered with a thick layer of varnishes. These are at least two alcohol -shaped layers.
Luminescence revealed different shades of the glow – green and blue. Also, the borders of the late entry around the perimeter of the image were clearly determined in UV rays; She went a lot on the author’s painting.
Complex of the events:
When removing wooden extensions, the subframe was seriously tested for strength, since forged tetrahedral nails passed through (along the upper edge of 10 cm). For the glue and tightening with clamps formed in the subframe of cracks, the upper edge of the canvas was removed from the subframe. The edges of the picture are cleansed of the protruding old mastic. After regeneration, the thickening and alignment of the varnish over the entire surface was performed, the records were removed. Places of loss after bringing the restoration soil are tinted. After restoration, the picture acquired the initial size corresponding to the catalog when admitted. Painting is returned by the author’s flavor.
