Velvet kokoshniks with embroidered gold patterns were part of a costume from the townspeople of a simple estate. The same devices were worn by nurse from wealthy families. “The nurse usually wears a thick shirt, a sittic sundress and a chintz hat, and on Sundays and holidays – a camplot sundress, sheathed with a galloon, a musical shirt and a velvet kokoshnik” (Panaev, 1844). Embroidery was performed by skillful gold worships, most often in monasteries. Women’s folk costume in Russia of the XVIII – XX centuries. SPb, 2013. With. 29.
