The artist is Yuon

Written by clean, light colors, the work of Constantine Juon passes the tender charm of the old Russian town full of internal dynamics, with the first rays of the spring sun again awakening to life.

The Assumption Cathedral of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra depicted by Yuon was built in 1559–1585 at the expense of Ivan the Terrible, who wished to put a temple in the monastery on the model of the main cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin. The monastery architects built a solemn and strict, full of majestic calm temple, almost accurately repeated the forms of the Kremlin Assumption Cathedral. Its impressive volume, crowned by five closely staged chapters, became the main voluminous dominant of the entire monastery complex. In 1806, the domes received spectacular jewelry in the form of overhead gold stars of different sizes.
