Konchalovsky’s picturesque works are classic samples of Bunovaletovsky Cezannism in combination with interest in urban visual folklore. According to one of the critics, in the works of Konchalovsky there was „as much from the sign and a bast as from the Cezann models ". Inside the avant -garde movement, Konchalovsky’s work, as well as some of its companions in „Bubnoye Valeta "determines a moderate direction gravitating to representativeness, traditional picturesque thoroughness.
