During the years of student, Malyavin joined the wide („Tsornovskaya “) manner of impressionistic writing, creating a classic of domestic painting a series of portraits of peasants and fellow practitioners according to the academy. On the verge of centuries, the artist discovered in his fellow villagers a new, previously unknown to Russian art – daring, independent, rebellious beginning. His blazing red tones, more format „Laughter", „Vortex", „Dancing woman, “impressionistic in their previously unknown painting, are a complex symbiosis of the features of symbolism, impressionism and expressionism.
