The artist is unknown
The picture was acquired by the timing as the work of an unknown artist of the school a. G. Venetianov. Its artistic level is very high. The poetic character, unusualness of the composition, the obvious natural giftedness of the author, possibly not a professional education, but very talented and peculiar, gave rise to the assumption that the author is the famous last student of Venetianov Grigory Soroka (1823–1864), whose works really have a special poetic mood. However, stylistic and technological research did not confirm its authorship. Despite the constant attention of the researchers, the author of the picture is not yet possible to establish.
